Transportation in Prague

All registered participants will obtain a free ticket for Prague public transport valid for the days of the duration of the conference.

Prague has a good public transport system, which includes 3 metro lines, trams and buses. Prague’s Metro system is quite new and efficient. During peak hours trains run every 1 or 2 minutes and off peak at least every 10 minutes.

Tickets:
Journeys up to 20 minutes without changing (non-transfer) – 18 CZK ticket.
Longer journeys or journeys with a transfer – 26 CZK ticket.
Longer multiple-day passes are also available.

Taxi

Most taxis in Prague do not accept credit cards! Although it is easy enough in the centre to hail a taxi on the street, it is recommended that you book one in advance.
The official fare is approximately CZK 30 per kilometre, so please check the price list before you get into the car.

Airport

Prague International Airport handles the flights of most European carriers and also overseas flights. It is located 30-45 minutes from the centre of Prague. There is a good connection between the Airport and the city centre by public transport buses and taxis.

Official Carrier

Czech Airlines (CSA) is the official carrier for ISCB 2009 and offers connections via Prague to an entire network of major destinations worldwide.

As the official carrier, it offers ISCB 2009 attendees a discount on tickets: 15% in Economy Class and 20% in Business Class. The discounts can be claimed on tickets to be flown within one week prior to the event and one week after the event, and are available for registered participants with one accompanying person. The discounts apply even for flights with codes OK 3000 – 5999, which are operated by our SkyTeam alliance partners (Aeroflot, Aero Mexico, Air France, KLM, Alitalia, Continental Airlines, Delta, Korean Air, and NWA).
